What does my donation support?

Your donation to MJTC will support a professional theater that is unique to the Twin Cities, state of Minnesota, and the region. Nationally respected for work that has garnered 5 Ivey Awards as well as the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council Arts Achievement Award, the Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company is a small professional theater that provides experiences that the youngest child through the oldest adult can enjoy. We produce outstanding plays while exploring Jewish culture and contemporary issues that are universal to people of all backgrounds. Comedy, drama, holidays shows, and musicals entertain and educate by highlighting the universality of our experiences and promoting tolerance in our world. Our general audiences are almost equally Jewish and non-Jewish. Our school groups are highly diverse and reflect the growing Minnesota community.

Your donation to MJTC will support the four programming arms that make the work of our mission possible:

  • Mainstage Productions - Our season of plays is composed of summer, fall, winter, and spring productions, including a holiday show that is geared for the youngest theatergoers. This holiday show provides the only professional show about Chanukah for families and school groups in the region.

  • Doorways - Our initiative of ongoing programs such as community forums, post-show symposia, panel discussions, written communications, and work with schoolchildren, are designed to open the doors to greater understanding and enjoyment of the plays MJTC presents— sharing deeper insights into the subjects and issues they address, and promoting unity and understanding among all people.

  • Wellsprings - is MJTC's initiative to develop new Jewish plays and support for Jewish playwrights. This program financially supports playwrights as they work to develop universal stories rooted in the Jewish experience.

  • Ticket Subsidy Program - The goal of our Ticket Subsidy Program is to insure that all children may experience, learn from, and enjoy the cultural and professional theater experience of the Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company. To support this goal, we provide steeply discounted ticket pricing for school groups, with each ticket for our holiday production just $3. States a St. Paul Public School teacher, “Without you, my kids would have missed this great experience.” Read more about our Ticket Subsidy Program here.
